New album, The Art of Repair, available now
The Art of Repair is a collection of songs about putting the pieces back together after a season of loss. Inspired by the ancient Japanese art of kintsugi, in which craftsmen mend broken pottery with gold lacquer, the album explores the experience of restoring broken relationships instead of discarding them. The fractures are not hidden but instead are illuminated to become something more beautiful for once having been shattered.
Recorded at Young Avenue Sound with engineer Calvin Lauber, the record features a band consisting of Andrew McNeill on drums, Carl Casperson on upright bass, Jon Gaines on piano, and Nathan Dugger on pedal steel.
